Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my blog!
My name is Keke and I’m a 24-year-old entrepreneur. My journey to entrepreneurship has indeed been a tough one. I’ve always had a desire to start my own business and work for myself, however, just like everyone else – I’ve always believed in the safety and security that typically comes with a regular 9-to-5 job. Unfortunately, I was stuck working jobs in sales, retail, and customer service that I absolutely hated.
To make matters worse, I was involved in a car accident that triggered all kinds of health complications which caused me to miss time at work and eventually have to leave a job that was paying the bills. Of course, I’m not the type to give up! I found a work from home job where I could make the proper work accommodations for myself in the comfort of my own home. However, this job was far more stressful and I had reached my breaking point. I absolutely could not do it anymore. I was only making $13/hr. answering calls for a huge company ( I’m talking 1,400+ calls in queue ) and just about every other customer was angry, disgruntled, and a pain to talk to.
I’ve always had tough skin growing up. I mean…I had to. I was a loner in school, bullied, and I never had a close relationship with my dad – it was tough. But out of everything I had gone through in life, working for a call center was the absolute worse! (Crazy, right?)
The cooperate world does not care about anyone. They don’t provide enough sick time for workers, they pay you low wages to take on a ton of stress, there’s absolutely no work-life balance, short breaks, and you have to deal with some of the most disgusting people in the world. Imagine dealing with anxiety, depression, and other medical issues and having to force yourself to get through an 8 hour ( sometimes a 12 hour ) work day. Not to mention, working overtime and just barely being able to pay the bills.
I decided that something had to give. I can’t complain because my life experiences gave me the motivation to strive for better, want better, and to change my current situation. It’s what drove me to figure out more about creating an online business, how to create an online business, and where to get started. It motivated to keep trying (even if one business idea failed) and it’s what motivated me to build this website to help others learn how to improve their personal finances and make money online.
I want to help empower others who may be dealing with debt, balancing work and school, battling an illness that prevents them from maintaining a full-time job, or just a natural born entrepreneur who needs help getting started!
